Indonesia won World Olympic Champion

Indonesia had emerged as overall champion in the international mathematics competition Wizards at Mathematics International Contest 2009 (WIZMIC) which took place in Lucknow, India on 26-31 October. Indonesia ahead of eight other countries to achieve 10 gold medals, 9 silver and 5 bronze in individual and group categories.

"With the number of medal and won the highest award category of Overall Champion for the group, and the highest value for the individual contest, Indonesia had emerged as overall champion," said Elvira, Vice Chairman of the Indonesian team which is accessible from Jakarta, Sunday (1 / 11).

Competition is competition WIZMIC intended for elementary school students or a maximum 13-year-old. The competition was organized by City Montessori School every two years.

In the third organization this year, the competition followed by nine countries with the number of 52 teams with 207 students. Besides Indonesia, the participants are Bulgaria, Bangladesh, Philippines, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Zimbabwe.

According to Elvira, Indonesia sent five teams consisting of 19 students. Competitions include individual competition, team competition, overall ranking (highest total combined score of a team that won the team competition and achieve value each team member is on the individual competition), and special awards.

The highest winning score for the individual contest is Henry Jayakusuma. In the group category, victory donated by Indonesia Agasha Kareef Ratam, Stanley Orlando, Kevin Pratama Rusli, and Fahmi Firdaus Space.
